Oberschleißheim, Germany — October 2026
Some businesses grow through advertising. Others build their reputation through relationships. NIHAO Kitchen, a Chinese restaurant in Oberschleißheim near Munich, represents the second approach. Since Sunny took over the establishment in 2022, the restaurant has pursued a clear strategy: authentic Sichuan cuisine, contemporary design, and hospitality built around personal trust. What began as a neighborhood dining destination has developed an identity that reaches into the Chinese business community in Bavaria.

A Different Approach to the Market
Sunny recognized an opportunity to offer something beyond the familiar European interpretation of Chinese food. Rather than simplifying traditional recipes to fit established expectations, she chose to emphasize the flavors and techniques of her native Sichuan. The investment went beyond the menu. A substantial renovation introduced a modern New Chinese Style interior, combining warm materials with minimalist design and a bright, refined atmosphere. The concept is straightforward but demanding: create an environment where authenticity and contemporary hospitality reinforce one another.
Fresh Preparation as a Competitive Advantage
NIHAO Kitchen places particular emphasis on preparing dishes from scratch. Handmade noodles, house-prepared sauces, and made-to-order cooking form part of the restaurant's culinary identity. The business has also built a team closely connected to Chinese food culture, with more than 80 percent of its kitchen and service staff reportedly recruited from China. This model requires investment in people, time, and operational discipline. It can also create a distinctive customer experience that is difficult to reproduce through standardized menus and pre-prepared ingredients.
